By letter dated November 7, 2016, the Dirección Nacional de Propiedad Intelectual (DINAPI) requested WIPO’s assistance in the area of capacity building (see attached). In the following exchange between WIPO and DINAPI, this request was made more specific and the organization of a workshop on IP enforcement was solicited. The proposed activity is foreseen in the 2017 Work Plans of both the Building Respect for IP Division and the Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean.
It is planned to organize the workshop back-to-back with the Ibero-American Workshop on Enforcement, Lima, Peru, November 9 and 10, 2017 (see copy of the mission proposal attached), and with two workshops on IP enforcement for judges and law enforcement officials, Bogota, Colombia, November 13 to 15 (mission proposal to be submitted shortly). |
