The approved work plan of the Industrial Property Office Business Solutions Division (IPOBSD) has identified the need for continued capacity building in terms of Industrial Property (IP) automation in the Caribbean Region, to allow greater level of efficiency in their IP administration. The World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Industrial Property Administration System (IPAS) and related IP automation tools are very important to the IP Offices across the region and, as such, continued skills development and knowledge transfer is required at different levels. Moreover, new automation tools made available by WIPO to its Member States, such as WIPO File and WIPO Publish, could contribute greatly in providing IP Offices with means of enhancing their services thru electronic platforms but are still very much unknown by them.
In this respect, it is proposed that a one week Training Workshop is organized the second half of April 2018, in Saint Kitts and Nevis |
