We refer to the approved Work Plan of Funds in Trust (FIT) / Japan Industrial Property (IP) for the fiscal year 2016-2017 (copy attached) which states that the Trust Funds will provide financial support to two workshops on the facilitation of World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Centralized Access to Search and Examination (CASE) platform. The proposed Seminar is composed of three activities, namely WIPO CASE Utilization Workshop, ASEAN Patent Examination Co-operation (ASPEC) Task Force Meeting and the Community of Practice (CoP) Meeting for patent examiners. This week-long program was supported by the recent Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation (AWGIPC) meeting that was held from November 22 to 24 2016, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
