COP22 in Marrakech will be an important event in the UN Calendar expected to move forward several key decisions and actions in readiness for the anticipated entry into force of the Paris Agreement. The External Relations Division (ERD) represented WIPO at the most recent session of the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference that took place in Bonn, in May 2016, in which technology transfer issues continue to be an important track of the UNFCCC's work. In order for WIPO (ERD) to continue to monitor and follow the UNFCCC process it is proposed that it be represented at the Conference. (memo attached). |
