Reference is made to the letter dated March 26, 2013, from the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), requesting the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for technical assistance in the Development of a National Intellectual Property Policy to which WIPO responded positively.
Following its re-structuring URSB has recruited a number of graduates with engineering, chemistry and other scientific and technological subjects to boost the team of examiners in the IP Directorate. The management is cognizant of the importance of capacity building for the new staff members to equip them to carry out their assignments. It is within this context that they have sought WIPO’s assistance for this study visit. |
