Title: Regional Seminar on Development and Effective Use of Intellectual Property Statistics
Description: The objectives will be to : (i) improve awareness of the importance of using IP statistics to make informed decisions; (ii) raise awareness of WIPO’s statistical activities; (iii) establish and improve existing cooperation with national IP office officials who are responsible for maintaining and reporting their country’s IP data; (iv) improve WIPO’s data coverage for the Asia region as a whole (at present a number of offices either do not respond to WIPO’s annual questionnaires or do not complete them correctly); and (v) advance common methodological approaches towards collecting and reporting IP statistics in order to produce internationally comparable data.
