The International Symposium is designed to provide a platform for China to share its experiences in the intellectual property (IP) protection of traditional cultural expressions (TCEs), facilitate the exchange of regional, national, and local practices among participants, promote the sharing of case studies and experiences on IP and TCEs in support of economic growth and sustainable development, and stimulate discussions on international IP protection of TCEs. It is also expected to serve as a useful complement to the text-based negotiations of the Intergovernmental Committee (IGC), with a strong emphasis on evidence-based approaches. |
