The purpose of the first general Workshop in Tirana (March 24) is to raise awareness among GI producers and various state and non-state organizations on GIs (market, consumer preferences and expectations, added value of GIs, branding and commercialization) as well as promote the use of the Lisbon System in Albania.
On March 25 targeted consultations are planned with the Valmi Elbasan Federation Board and extension service staff for preparation of the workshop.
The training in Elbasan (March 26) would gather the value chain stakeholders (olive and olive oil producers), supporters (agricultural extension services) and IP Office and Ministry of Agriculture staff to pave the way for a harmonized and coherent use of the GI and the “Valmi Elbasan Olive Oil” GI logo, outline the initial elements of the marketing and promotion strategy for the GI and decide with producers about some concrete initiatives to promote “Valmi Elbasan Olive Oil” GI. |
