Mission to participate in the High-Level Policy Event on the Role of Creative Industries and the Launch of the Creative Economy Data Model (CEDM) |

WIPO has developed the Creative Economy Data Model (CEDM), a policy tool designed to evaluate the creative capacity of national economies. The model assesses the creative economy ecosystem of Member States through a set of indicators that support evidence-based policy formulation. The CEDM is currently being implemented in several countries across different regions.
The Ministry of Culture of Latvia has officially expressed its interest in applying the CEDM to assess the quality and performance of its creative ecosystem. WIPO has responded positively to this request. Implementing the CEDM in Latvia offers an opportunity to apply the model for the first time in a European context, taking advantage of the extensive data available through Eurostat. Latvia’s strong data quality and coverage will enable a comprehensive application of the model and help test its full analytical potential.
