Title: WIPO PROJECT FOR NURTURING APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGIES IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES AND ASSISTING THE COMMERCIALIZATION OF SUCH TECHNOLOGIES and COMPETITION AND WORKSHOP IN TWO COUNTRIES
Description: It is envisaged in the Work Plan of FIT/Korea-IP for its fiscal year 2009-2010 that a project would be undertaken to promote the development of appropriate technologies in the developing countries, especially through the effective use of patent information. At the third session of the Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP), held from April 27 to May 1, 2009, the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) presented a proposal for the “use of patent information in the transfer of appropriate technology (AT)”, which comprised of two parts, i.e., “dissemination of AT information” and “support for the implementation of AT”.
