The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation in organizing, jointly with Young-ICCA (International Council for Commercial Arbitration), and with the support of the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), a half-day seminar on IP Arbitration, at WIPO, on January 30, 2019. The mission of Young-ICCA is to open the doors of international arbitration to all by promoting diversity in international arbitration. The purpose of the seminar is to provide basic practical skills training on IP arbitratin for young practitioners and students, in particular those coming from jurisdictions in which the knowledge and use of arbitration are less widespread than in the traditional arbitration centers. It also means to create, for a young audience with little experience of arbitration, opportunities to interact and network with established arbitration practitioners and academics. The seminar faculty is composed of Center staff, junior to mid-level practitioners or academics as well as senior practitioners or academics well-established in the field of international arbitration (draft Program attached). WIPO will arrange and cover the cost of coffee breaks as well as a reception. |
