As per the project document for the Bilateral Project (please find attached), the assignment of a national and international expert for the project has been completed by WIPO. The National Expert Group (NEG) which has been established is currently in the process of identifying two national development needs for which appropriate technologies are required.

In this context, it is proposed for the International Expert, Dr. Doug Sanyahumbi, to travel to Kampala, Uganda from May 1 to 2, 2019, in order to undertake consultations with relevant stakeholders of the project. The primary objective of these technical consultations will be for the International Expert to get acquainted with the relevant national stakeholders of the project, finalize a more detailed project plan with the NEG, and thereby facilitate the finalization of the development needs identification process. Substantively, Dr. Sanyahumbi will also provide technical expertise and knowledge on issues relating to technology transfer including on the management and utilization of technical and scientific information for the achievement of development objectives.
