||Within the framework of the program of technical cooperation between WIPO and the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV), WIPO organized, in cooperation with PRV and with the assistance of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), an Advanced International Training Program on Intellectual Property Rights for Least Developed Countries (LDCs), in Stockholm, from January 20 to February 8, 2019.
A copy of the approved memorandum for the above mentioned Training Program is attached for ease of reference.
Following consultations with the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and PRV, it is proposed to organize the follow-up to the Training Program in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from August 18 to 23, 2019. The letter confirming the commitment of the Government of Cambodia to host the follow-up meeting of the Training Program is attached.
The main purpose of the Follow-up Training Program is to share relevant experiences among the participants on the progress of individual country projects identified during the Training Program in Stockholm, in January/February 2019, and to formulate action plans for the future.
Certificates will be prepared to be issued to all participants that will successfully complete the Training Program (those who participated in Stockholm in January/February 2019 and will attend the follow-up in Phnom Penh). A sample of the certificate is attached, for your approval.
The attached provisional program includes the participation of several senior officials from LDCs and national IP experts who will present and share their experiences in key sectors that are of strategic and development related importance for LDCs. The honoraria of the above mentioned senior local speakers are included in the attached cost estimate from the Budget of LDCs (0035).
