In her letter of March 20, 2017 (copy attached), Ms. Aleksandra Starikova, Head, Patent Service, Penza State University, invite the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to participate in the International Scientific and Practical Conference on Legal Protection and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights: History, Theory and Practice, to be held in Penza, Russian Federation, on April 24 and 25, 2017, and promote the development of institutional intellectual property policies in universities and research institutions.
The Conference would be a good opportunity to promote the WIPO Project of the Development of IP Policies for Universities and Research Institutions in the Russian Federation.
In this regard, it is suggested that Mr. Evgeniy Sesitsky, Program Officer, Section for Caucasian, Central Asian and Eastern European Countries, Department for Transition and Developed Countries (TDC), undertake a mission to Penza on April 24 and 25, 2017, in order to attend the event, participate in the ceremonies of official opening and closing of the Conference, promote the elaboration/development of institutional IP policies, make a presentation on the Recent WIPO Activities and Support for the Development of IP Policies by Universities and Research Institutions and facilitate the discussions. |
