The purpose of the workshop is to make an analysis of the patent system and in particular its function as a mechanism to incentive innovation and transfer of technology. The workshop would be a good occasion to evaluate the way in which available multilateral flexibilities have been incorporated in the national laws of certain Latin American and Caribbean countries in order to attend to diverse patent related policy issues, and the way these laws have evolved to address multilateral, regional and bilateral commitments. |
