Title: WIPO-KIPO-DIP Regional Colloquium on Intellectual Property Enforcement for Judges
Description: The agreed Work Plan 2014/2015 for the Korea Funds-in-Trust Arrangement Under the Voluntary Contribution of the Government of the Republic of Korea (FIT/Korea-IP) includes the organization of a WIPO Regional Colloquium on Intellectual Property Enforcement for Judges in the first half of 2015.
The colloquium implements WIPO’s Strategic Goal VI – international cooperation on building respect for intellectual property (IP) – through the creation of a regional forum of exchange on IP enforcement for experts from the judiciary. Addressing enforcement in the context of broader societal and economic goals, it also aims at strengthening the capacity in participating WIPO Member States for the effective enforcement of IP rights in the interest of development and consumer protection. In particular, the colloquium has the objective:
(i) to enhance knowledge of IP enforcement and its challenges;
(ii) to increase the effectiveness of civil and criminal IP proceedings in the interest of development and consumer protection; and
(iii) to create and international network of IP experts from the judiciary that allows for ongoing exchange and cooperation.
