Title: Expert mission to Turkmenistan on Bern Convention and Hague Agreement
Description: In Note Verbale of March 12, 2015 (copy attached), the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan in Geneva, requested WIPO to assist the Turkmenistan in organizing an expert mission of WIPO experts in order to discuss with the relevant State Agencies of Turkmenistan
WIPO-Administered Treaties, namely Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works; Hague Agreement Concerning the lnternational Registration of Industrial Designs; and Nairobi Treaty on the Protection of the Olympic Symbol.
The intention to organize such a mission was expressed and supported during the official visit of the Director General of WIPO in Turkmenistan, held from June 15 to 17, 2015.
Considering the need of the country to start the accession procedures in respect of the Bern Convention and Hague Agreement, it is proposed that Mr. Mr. Victor Vazquez Lopez, Head, Section for Coordination of Developed Countries, TDC, and Mr. Mikhail Faleev, Senior Information Officer, Information and Promotion Section, The Hague Registry, undertake an expert mission on July 13 and 14, 2015, in order to provide efficient assistance to deepen the understanding of above-mentioned international agreements.
