Within the framework of the ongoing program of technical cooperation between WIPO and the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV), WIPO organized, in cooperation with PRV and with the assistance of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), an Advanced Training and Advisory Program on Intellectual Property Rights in the Global Economy for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), in Stockholm, from August 28 to September 16, 2016.
A copy of the approved memorandum for the above mentioned Training Program is attached, for ease of reference.
The main purpose of the Follow-up to the Advanced Training Program is to share relevant experiences among the participants on the progress of individual country projects identified during the Training Program in Stockholm, in August-September 2016, and to agree on the future course of action in terms of the implementation of those projects for strengthening the national capacity in the areas of transfer of technology, invention and innovation. In this context, special attention will be given to the projects from Ethiopia, Tanzania and Zambia.
Following consultations with the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, it is proposed to organize the follow-up to the Advanced Training Program in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from March 5 to 10, 2017. The letter confirming the willingness of the Government of Cambodia to host the follow-up meeting of the Advanced Training Program is attached.
Certificates will be issued to all participants that will successfully complete the Training Program (those who participated in Stockholm in August/September 2016 and will attend the follow-up in Phnom Penh). A sample of the certificate is attached, for your approval.
The actual certificates to be signed by you will be submitted closer to the date of the program once the participants confirm their attendance. The representative of PRV will also sign on the certificates.
