During the 2016 series of the General Assemblies of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a meeting was organized between the delegations of Poland represented by Ms. Alicja Adamczak, President of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina represented by Mr. Josip Merdžo, Director, Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Denis Croze, Director, WIPO Office in Singapore (WSO) and Mr. Michal Svantner, Director, Department for Transition and Developed Countries (TDC). In the said meeting, Ms. Adamczak and Mr. Merdžo expressed their needs to learn best practices in research-industry relations and institutional policies at universities and research institutions in Singapore, emphasizing that this would serve in promoting innovation and overcoming academic research commercialization gaps in their respective countries. In November 2016, during the Sub-Regional Seminar on Intellectual Property Policies at Universities and Research Institutions, which took place in Moscow, a similar request was voiced by the organizers and university representatives from the Russian Federation. |
