Reference if made to the letter of October 19, 2017 (copy attached), from Mr. Grigory Ivliev, Director General, Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), and to the letter of October 18, 2017 (copy attached), from Mr. Ivan Bliznets, Rector, Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property (RGAIS), requesting WIPO to organize a study visit to the WIPO Headquarters for the winners of the International IP Olympiad for High School Students. Mr. Bliznets also suggested inviting the students from the CIS countries to participate in the event.
In this regard, it is proposed to meet the above mentioned requests and to organize the Study Visit to the WIPO Headquarters for the IP Students, to be held on December 5 and 6, 2017, for four winners of the International IP Olympiad for High School Students, two representatives of RGAIS engaged in the organization on the Olympiad, and two students undertaking IP related studies, trainings or research from each of the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The objective of the event would be to raise awareness about WIPO and its activities, including the global IP services and different other projects and initiatives. A copy of the provisional program is attached. The working languages would be English and Russian with simultaneous interpretation.
This activity is expected to contribute to Expected Result III.2 Enhanced human resource capacities able to deal with the broad range of requirements for the effective use of IP for development in developing countries, LDCs and countries with economies in transition, Performance Indicator – % of trained IP professionals and IP Officials using upgraded skills in their work. |
