1. This memorandum seeks your approval to fund the participation of two representatives from Brazil and Nigeria who will both represent their governments in two side events organized in the margin of the 35th session of the SCCR.
- On Tuesday November 14, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil is organizing an event on Copyright & Education in the Digital Environment: Challenges and Opportunities – It is proposed to fund the participation of Ms. Carolina Panzolini, IP Coordinator, Ministry of Culture;
- On Wednesday 15, a side event and screening on Nollywood film industry will take place. It is proposed to fund the participation of Mr Mike Akpan, director regulatory, of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) who will speak at the event.
2. WIPO will fund the travel expenses to Geneva and provide three DSA to Ms Panzolini and Mr. Akpan. A cost estimate is attached.
