Title: Heads of IP Office Conference (HIPOC) for Countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia, & Iran and Mongolia, Phase VI AND WIPO High Level Forum on Utilizing the IP System for Economic, Social and Cultural Development in Celebration of the 30th Annivers
Description: (i) The objectives of HIPOC VI are: (a) to build on the outcomes of the previous HIPOC meetings held in 2015 and 2016 and continue building relationships between and among Heads of IP Offices and WIPO; (b) to engage directly the leadership of national IP offices, especially recent appointees, in an intensified and focused conversation on various aspects of development cooperation to foster a new leadership aiming for better mutual accountability, coherence of actions and sustainability of results; (c) to serve as the executive level learning platform for Heads of IP Offices in the region; and (d) for the present program, to discuss and obtain feedback on technical assistance cooperation experience, tools and methodologies.
(ii) The objectives of the Forum are: (a) to exchange views and information on IP policy and strategic considerations relating to the current international circumstances and emerging trends in the field of intellectual property; (b) to identify best practices to utilize the IP system and infrastructure for economic, social and cultural development; and (c) to explore possible areas of cooperation in countries for establishing a modern and effective IP system.
