The WIPO Academy and the State Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Croatia (SIPO) are offering an enhanced version of the WIPO Academy’s General Course on Intellectual Property (DL-101) in Croatian. The course is a modernized update of the previous edition which originally launched in 2014. Anyone interested in gaining foundational knowledge in intellectual property (IP) in Croatian is encouraged to apply by May 26, 2025 for the session running from May to July 2025. Spaces are limited and applicants will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis!
What will you learn about?
The modernized edition of the course offers an engaging online learning experience with updated content and interactive audiovisual materials that accompany asynchronous online modules taught by local IP experts. The course modules cover the following topics:
- Introduction to IP;
- Copyright;
- Related rights;
- Trademarks;
- Geographical indications;
- Industrial designs;
- Patents;
- Unfair competition;
- WIPO treaties;
- Protection of new varieties of plants;
- Introduction to traditional knowledge, traditional cultural expressions and genetic resources;
- IP and development; and
- Summary and discussion on IP rights.
The course concludes in a multiple-choice online exam to be completed from July 2 to 4, 2025. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate jointly issued by WIPO Academy and SIPO. The course marks the first deployment of the new and improved DL-101 format for a WIPO Member State.
