WIPO Academy and the World Trade Organization (WTO) are teaming up to offer the first edition of a new Executive Program on Intellectual Property (IP) Issues for senior government officials, scheduled to take place at WIPO and WTO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland from June 3 to 14, 2024. Applications are now open on the WIPO eLearning Center until April 10, 2024.

What does the program cover?

The WIPO-WTO Executive Program on IP Issues is designed to enhance national expertise in IP law and policy matters, and offers a multidisciplinary approach to contemporary IP-related policy issues discussed at the international level.

Senior government officials with a strong background in IP, including international and policy dimensions, have the unique opportunity to engage with officials from WIPO and WTO on thematic areas such as:

  • Contemporary issues in copyright and related rights;
  • IP and technology transfer in action;
  • Issues at the crossroads of public health, IP and trade; and
  • IP as a catalyst for the digital economy and women empowerment.

Eligibility and application details

Qualified candidates must be senior government officials responsible for IP and related policy issues in their countries, who have successfully completed either:

The program will be held in English, so an excellent command of the English language is required for all participants.
