PCT Information Update

AU Australia (fees)

As from 1 July 2025, there will be a change in the equivalent amounts of the international filing fee and the fee per sheet over 30, payable in AUD to the Australian Patent Office as receiving Office, as well as a change in the equivalent amounts in AUD of the applicable filing fee reductions listed in item 4 of the Schedule of Fees, as indicated in Fee Table I(a).

NZ New Zealand (fees)

As from 1 July 2025, there will be a change in the equivalent amounts of the international filing fee and the fee per sheet over 30, payable in NZD to the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ) as receiving Office, as well as a change in the equivalent amounts in NZD of the applicable filing fee reductions listed in item 4 of the Schedule of Fees, as indicated in Fee Table I(a).

ZA South Africa (fees)

As from 1 July 2025, there will be a change in the equivalent amounts of the international filing fee and the fee per sheet over 30, payable in ZAR to the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) (South Africa) as receiving Office, as well as a change in the equivalent amount in ZAR of the applicable fee reductions listed in item 4 of the Schedule of Fees, as indicated in Fee Table I(a).

International filing fee and handling fee payable in US dollars (various Offices)

On 1 July 2025, there will be changes in the equivalent amounts in USD of the international filing fee, the fee per sheet over 30, the electronic filing reductions (where applicable) listed in item item 4 of the Schedule of Fees and the handling fee, as indicated in the PCT Fee Tables. These changes have been reflected in the following annexes of the PCT Applicant’s Guide:

Search fee and other fees relating to the international search (various Offices)

As from 1 July 2025, there will be changes in the equivalent amounts payable in the currencies specified below for international searches carried out by the following Offices:

Austrian Patent Office................................................ ZAR

Canadian Intellectual Property Office...................... EUR

Egyptian Patent Office............................................... CHF, EUR

European Patent Office (EPO)................................... USD, ZAR

Israel Patent Office..................................................... EUR

Japan Patent Office..................................................... USD

Korean Intellectual Property Office.......................... CHF

The new amounts are indicated in Fee Table I(b).

Handling fee (Australian Patent Office, Israel Patent Office, Korean Intellectual Property Office)

As from 1 July 2025, there will be changes in the equivalent amounts of the handling fee, payable in AUD to the Australian Patent Office, in ILS to the Israel Patent Office and in KRW to the Korean Intellectual Property Office as International Preliminary Examining Authorities. The new amounts will be AUD 377, ILS 875 and KRW 345,000.
