PCT success story: Water-saving sanitary module for toilets

This PCT application has allowed us to reassure our investors and to raise our first round of funds. For a new start-up like ours, the additional period granted by filing an international application before deciding on which markets are of interest to us is particularly advantageous, taking into account the costs associated with filing an international application.

This additional period has allowed us to set up our R&D and to assess the patentability of our invention with respect to the market, thanks in particular to the international search report. As a result, we have been able to make fully informed decisions relating to the national phases.

Cleantech has an international market which is growing rapidly, with innovations that are highly sought after. We filed a PCT international application for several reasons:

  • to gain international protection for our innovation in the field of water recycling, and to avoid similar projects being filed before we could complete the final version of our prototype,
  •  to add value to our innovation and our company, and
  • to give confidence to potential investors.
