The New PATENTSCOPE Interface

September 18, 2019

On September 17, 2019, the new PATENTSCOPE interface was released at the same time as WIPO launched its new IP Portal. It is a one-stop shop to the Organization’s full range of online intellectual property (IP) services. For users of WIPO’s IP services for patents, trademarks and industrial designs, the IP Portal will provide greater consistency in how they interact with WIPO, while maintaining the underlying business processes.

In order to provide a consistent experience in the WIPO IP Portal, the new PATENTSCOPE interface was developed. It is still a beta version because some of the features have not yet been made available. For those features, there is a link to the current interface. Both the current and the new interfaces will be available for the next few months.

When using the new interface, users have access to the same data as when using the current interface: the searches performed in the new interface will return the same results as those of searches performed in the current version. The search and analysis features remain unchanged.

One login for all applications: the WIPO account to login into PATENTSCOPE allows users to access the WIPO Portal and all the applications contained in it.

In order to improve this new interface, as well as to prioritize the work that should be done, there is a dedicated Feedback button available in the menu on the top right-hand side.
