Korean to English Translation Tool Available through PATENTSCOPE

As of November 22, 2011, thanks to a collaboration with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), a new tool to translate Korean patent documents filed under WIPO’s Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) into English is available through WIPO’s PATENTSCOPE website. Considering the increasing number of PCT applications that are being filed in Korean - 7,336 in 2010 alone – this service will greatly facilitate access to Korean patent information. 

This service is available free of charge through WIPO’s PATENTSCOPE for one year. It will also be available for an indefinite period through KIPRIS, a free internet-based patent document search service for the general public managed by KIPO.
