IP is a critical incentive for innovation and creativity, which are key to the success of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Appropriate IP policies, an effective legal framework, robust enforcement mechanisms are crucial elements of the innovation ecosystem that enable a nation to achieve these goals.

In this session, we will discuss IP enforcement as a tool for sustainable development, focusing on SDGs relating to health, industrial innovation, well-functioning infrastructure, reduced inequalities and justice. We will look into how a sustainable society can only be achieved through extensive and effective use of the IP system.
