Victoriano Colodrón

Victoriano Colodrón is, since September 2010, Executive Director of RightsDirect (www.rightsdirect.com), the European subsidiary of Copyright Clearance Center (www.copyright.com). Prior to joining RightsDirect, he had served for 10 years as Technical Director of CEDRO, the Spanish Reproduction Rights Organization, and he chaired the Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO). Before that, Colodrón was Subdirector General and Technical Advisor of Library Coordination at the Spanish Ministry of Culture, and he worked at the National Library of Spain.

With a University degree in Romance Philology, Victoriano Colodrón has presented at many national and international fora, as well as lectured at numerous courses and seminars on documentation, library automation, and copyright in the publishing industry. Among his most recent publications is an article on “Copyright Compliance in Private Companies: Challenges and Solutions” (WIPO Magazine, June 2011).
