Hague System Stories: Classic Meets Modern with RGNT Motorcycles

Inspired by the quiet streets of Beijing during a visit in 2018, Swedish entrepreneur and long-time biker, Jonathan Åstrom, developed an idea to create an electric motorbike that combines retro-design with the latest cutting-edge technology used in modern cars.

Following the market success of his first prototype released in 2019, Jonathan quickly went on to launch RGNT. The company’s objective? To bring silence to the streets and quickly expand into a fast-growing bike-tech market, using high quality designs and leading innovation.

Retro styling for the future

Driven by a passion for iconic motorcycles, RGNT has developed a timeless design concept. The two models that they currently have on the market are both 1960s inspired.

Our motorcycles have a timeless style that stands the test of time. Designed to relive the past, from hand-structured leather to Swedish quality steel frame, we’ve modernized each feature while keeping the old charm intact.

RGNT

The "No.1 Classic" is a classier model with a sportier and more streamlined design. It uses customizable design features; from the color of the faux gas tank, which – shaped out of sheet metal to ensure an authentic feel – conceals the bike’s onboard charger and charge port, through to the saddle grips, fenders and more.

And to bring a natural touch, they use premium, vegetable-tanned leather for the seats, with vegan friendly alternatives available.

The "No. 1 Scrambler" features a tougher, more rugged design – more ground clearance, knobby tires, etc. – but still has just as much tech to boot and works well for both city driving and off-roading.

With a handcrafted leather seat, robust steel frame and simple chargeability, the "No.1" gives you the freedom to simply ride.

RGNT

All of RGNT’s bikes are hand-built on site in Kungsbacka, near Gothenburg. Conscious of minimizing their carbon footprint, the company uses only local suppliers.

RGNT's bikes also integrate the most up-to-date technology:

  • an LCD touch display indicates speed, battery status and more;
  • a 4G and GPS connection enables navigation and features such as anti-theft; and
  • cloud connectivity enables automatic, over-the-air software updates.

The bikes, which are able to reach top speeds of 120 km/h, are equipped with a 9.5 kWh battery with a range of 148 km and CBS hydraulic disc brakes with four-piston brakes in the front, and one in the rear.

RGNT and the Hague System
