WIPO China: Director General Daren Tang Extended Congratulations via Video to the WIC Wuzhen Summit
Wuzhen, November 7 - The 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit opened in east China’s Zhejiang Province. With the theme of "Forging an Open, Cooperative, Secure and Inclusive Future of Digital Intelligence - Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace", the Summit is hosted by the World Internet Conference (WIC),and supported by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The Summit includes 24 sub-forums on topics such as digital economy, AI and data governance, along with a series of activities, attracting over 1,600 participants from more than130 countries and regions.
WIPO Director General Daren Tang extended congratulations via video to the Summit. Mr. Tang noted that more and more economies are strengthening both their digital and innovation ecosystems. In this year, China entered the GII top 10 for the first time - an achievement supported by a digital economy that really contributes around 10% of GDP in China. China also illustrates another important trend, the merging of technology, media, culture and content in new and dynamic ways.
Mr. Tang said that the Summit provides the opportunity for global dialogue and collaboration, which have continued, and will have to continue being the foundations of an internet that connects people and ideas, spreads opportunity and powers new forms of innovation and creativity.
Li Shulei, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the Opening Ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. The Opening Ceremony featured speeches by Secretary Wang Hao of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, Minister Raïssa Malu Dinanga of National Education and New Citizenship for the Democratic Republic of the Congo, CEO John Hoffman of Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), Founder and Chairman Liu Qiangdong of JD.com, and CEO Wu Yongming of Alibaba Group. Chair Zhuang Rongwen of WIC hosted the Ceremony. WIPO Deputy Director General Wang Binying attended the Ceremony. The "World Internet Conference Distinguished Contribution Award" is presented at the Ceremony.
Theoretical Symposium on the Concept of Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace at its 10th Anniversary
On November 6, Ms. Wang Binying attended the Theoretical Symposium on the Concept of Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace at its 10th Anniversary, which was hosted by the WIC, focusing on practice and prospects of building a community with a shared future in cyberspace. More than 100 senior representatives from international organizations, government departments, leading internet enterprises, research institutions, and academia participated in the symposium.
Six Little Dragons Wuzhen Dialogue
On November 7, the "Six Little Dragons" Wuzhen Dialogue is held at the Main Forum. The dialogue brought together founders and representatives from six enterprises - Unitree Robotics, BrainCo, Manycore, DEEP Robotics, Game Science, and DeepSeek - for in-depth discussions on entrepreneurship, the internet, and the future of technology. They demonstrated the innovative strength of China's digital intelligence domain while conveying a value-driven pursuit of leveraging technology to serve humanity and harnessing innovation to benefit people.
