Since 2009, the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center (the "WIPO Center") has collaborated with Registry .BO as a provider of dispute resolution services for domain names registered under .BO, Bolivia (Plurinational State of).
As a result of this experience and collaboration, the Policy, the Rules, and the WIPO Supplemental Rules for .BO have been updated to further modernize and streamline dispute resolution procedures.
The .BO dispute Policy is a variation of the UDRP:
- The procedure does not require the parties to send hard copies of their pleadings and annexes anymore.
- The Mutual Jurisdiction for domain name disputes is the competent Tribunals in Bolivia.
- The Complainant must prove that the domain name is identical or confusingly similar to a trademark or service mark in which the Complainant has rights previously registered or applied for in Bolivia.
- The Complainant must prove that the Respondent either registered or used the domain name in bad faith — without the need to prove both elements together.
