WIPO Academy Launches New IP EdTech Service

July 3, 2024

The WIPO Academy just launched IP EdTech, a new service dedicated to bridging the gap in access to digital education tools on intellectually property (IP). The comprehensive service is managed by the WIPO Academy’s Distance Learning Program and is now available for IP offices and IP education providers to request for tailormade digital offline and online IP education and training solutions.

The IP EdTech initiative is crucial for expanding high-quality IP education resources to all.

Request for IP EdTech support

What is IP EdTech?

IP EdTech uses educational technology to enhance IP education, ensuring that even the most remote communities can access top-tier learning resources. IP EdTech helps by:

  • Engaging learners with interactive and immersive learning tools.
  • Improving knowledge retention through artificial intelligence (AI)-driven personalized educational journeys.
  • Enhancing collaboration among learners and teachers.
  • Managing online learning efficiently using learning management systems for course and user administration.
  • Expanding access to areas with limited to no internet and electricity, ensuring no learner is left behind.

The IP EdTech service compliments WIPO Academy’s existing support to member states in customizing the distance learning courses for their national audiences. The WIPO Academy ensures that all communities can benefit from high-quality tailored IP education.

Member states and IP training providers can now submit a request to partner with the WIPO Academy to implement IP EdTech solutions tailored to their needs.

Through our new IP EdTech service, we are bringing innovation and intellectual property (IP) education, training, and skills-building opportunities to learners with limited access to the internet and technological devices at a global scale. This new feat involves working hand-in-hand with our partners across member states to break down digital barriers and provide offline digital learning opportunities that do not compromise on the overall learning experience, so that IP education, training and skills-building can indeed be available for everyone, everywhere.

Mr. Sherif Saadallah, Executive Director of the WIPO Academy
