Directives of the PCT Assembly

Directives of the PCT Assembly are formal instructions adopted by the PCT Assembly to guide the administration of specific aspects of the PCT System. They are not general guidance for applicants, but they provide the legal or administrative basis for how certain PCT rules or processes are implemented or applied in practice.

Directives currently in force

Directives for updating the lists of States meeting the criteria for reduction of certain PCT fees (as in force from July 17, 2024)

  • Establish the process for reviewing and updating the lists of States that meet the criteria for certain fee reductions under the PCT. 

Directives of the PCT Assembly relating to the establishment of equivalent amounts of certain fees (as in force from July 1, 2010)

  • Govern how equivalent amounts are established for the international filing fee, handling fee, search fee and supplementary search fee as required by the PCT Regulations.
