Warning: planned WIPO IT system outages

Possible disruption to ePCT and other WIPO systems on 22 August and 1 September

Upcoming work to maintain and upgrade WIPO’s information technology systems may briefly disrupt some platforms and services, including ePCT.

Services may be interrupted on two dates:

  • On Saturday, 22 August, users may experience problems in accessing applications for around 10 minutes between 09:00 and 10:00 CEST, and for around 30 minutes between 10:00 and 14:00 CEST.
  • On Tuesday, 1 September, between 09:00 and 10:00 CEST, users will be unable to create or confirm new WIPO Accounts, or to update WIPO Account personal information in existing WIPO Accounts.  Login using existing WIPO Accounts to use ePCT and other systems should be unaffected as long as you do not need to update your personal information.

In both cases, the planned downtime is expected to be very short and application of PCT Rule 82quater.2(a) for excuse of delay in meeting time limits is not envisaged at this stage, as per the practice of the International Bureau. Users are nevertheless advised to factor these possible outages into their planning.
