Intellectual Property (IP) examiners work in IP offices to review applications for patents, trademarks, industrial designs, or geographical indications. Their role is to determine whether these applications meet legal requirements for protection or not.
IP examiners contribute to the success of the global IP system and their role in the process often remains unnoticed, so in recognition of their significant efforts WIPO celebrated IP examiners on November 11, 2025.
The celebration of IP examiners on November 11, 2025 was open to anyone! In particular, all national and regional IP offices, relevant government agencies, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, universities, schools and aspiring IP examiners were invited to mark the occasion.
