This is the eighth session in WIPO’s Sharing Sessions on Closing the Gender Gap in Intellectual Property (IP), organized in the framework of the Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP). The session will bring together women professionals from Kenya, the United Kingdom, China, and Brazil to discuss how IP can support innovation, branding, entrepreneurship, and inclusion in the sports sector.
The session will be moderated by H.E. Ms. Anita Pipan, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, with opening remarks by Ms. Lisa Jorgenson, Deputy Director General, Patents and Technology Sector, WIPO.
Participants will gain practical insights from real-world experiences of women professionals working across the sports sector, learn how IP can contribute to business growth and innovation, and better understand how it can help advance women’s leadership and participation in sports.

The Sharing Sessions on Closing the Gender Gap in IP are organized following a decision by the Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP) and are open to all interested participants.
