The Republic of Korea has been a member of WIPO since 1979 and is a signatory to over 20 WIPO treaties.

The national IP offices of the Republic of Korea are the Copyright Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). The offices are located in Sejong-si and Daejeon respectively.
