Register for the WIPO-BusinessEurope Workshop: Exploring the Future of Innovation-driven Growth and the Role of Intellectual Property

March 15, 2023

April 5, 2023, 3-5.30 PM CET, Geneva

Two novel innovation waves are heading our way, according to the Global Innovation Index 2022; a Digital Age Wave and a Deep Science Wave.

This workshop - organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and BusinessEurope, and with participation of the European Commission - considers the role of intellectual property (IP) in these future innovation waves with leading European IP practitioners and experts.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, European industry leaders from Bayer, Spotify, GH Research, Lif (the Swedish Trade Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry), Novartis, BASF and ThyssenKrupp will be discussing:

  • What is the role of IP in unleashing the Digital Age and the Deep Science wave: “business as usual” or something novel?
  • What are the ramifications of these innovation waves on the use and impact of IP?
  • What relationship exists between innovation-related growth, IP, and global challenges?

Opening remarks will be made by Ms. Kerstin Jorna, Director General, Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, European Commission, as well as Alexander Affre, Deputy Director General, BusinessEurope and Marco Aleman, Assistant Director General, WIPO.

Are you curious to learn about the future of innovation-driven growth in Europe and the role of IP in the two upcoming innovation waves? Then join our webinar by registering below.

This event follows up on a similar meeting with U.S. industry earlier this year, and we plan to have more on the same topic with corporations in different world regions.
