Congratulations to the First Graduating Class at KDI School

The first cohort of the Master's Degree Program in Intellectual Property and Development Policy (MIPD), which launched in 2020, at the Korea Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management (KDI School) jointly offered by the WIPO Academy, the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), KDI School and Sejong City has graduated.
The 2020 cohort of the year-long master’s degree program consisted of 17 students from 13 countries in different regions of the world. Nineteen new students have been accepted into the second edition of the MIPD, which will start in January 2021.
Degree details
The MIPD, which is offered in English, provides students with knowledge and practical expertise on the use of intellectual property (IP) for innovation, economic growth and sustainable development. The program is designed to respond to the international need for human resources in IP and development, and to nurture IP policymakers and global leaders working in the public and private sector. The MIPD consists of a distance learning phase, followed by three residential trimesters in the Republic of Korea covering a range of topics including:
- International IP law and development;
- Economics of innovation and new technology;
- IP management and practice;
- IP, emerging issues and sustainable development; and
- Trade and development.
