The tool works without registration and can be accessed from any device, making it an easy starting point for businesses at any stage.

Built for Global Use
WIPO’s IP for Business Division works with national and regional partners to make the tool available in multiple languages and adapted to local needs.
Translations are available in Bulgarian, Albanian, Kiswahili, Portuguese (Portugal), Thai, Uzbek, Romanian (Moldova), Vietnamese, Khmer (Cambodia), and Bahasa Indonesia. These complement the tools core availability in PCT-10 languages, helping users access guidance in the languages most widely used in the global IP system.
Adapted versions have also been created with OAPI and with national offices in India, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Egypt, Slovenia, Trinidad and Tobago, the Russian Federation, Croatia and others. An industry-specific version for publishers is also available.
These adaptations help SMEs everywhere access guidance that fits their local environment.
A Record Year for SME Engagement
Interest in IP support tools continues to rise. In 2025, more than 163,000 unique users accessed WIPO’s SME tools and materials and SME-related publications were downloaded over 500,000 times.
This highlights the demand for practical, easy-to-use IP resources.
What’s next?
WIPO is now developing Diagnostics Tool 2.0, which will offer an updated user experience and additional features to support SME needs.
The IP for Business team looks forward to continuing to work with partners around the world to bring this tool to more entrepreneurs and support them in turning their ideas into valuable business assets.
