RE: REQUEST FOR COMMENTS ON ISSUES ADDRESSED IN THE SECOND WIPO INTERNETDOMAIN NAME PROCESS In response to the WIPO2 RFC-2, the Name Policy Advisory Panel (Name Panel) to the au Domain Administration (auDA) Board would like to submit its Public Consultation Report, November 2000. The report is available in HTML or PDF format at http://www.auda.org.au/panel/name/papers/publicreport.html http://www.auda.org.au/panel/name/papers/publicreport.pdf auDA is an incorporated, non-profit organisation with membership from the supply and demand sectors of the Australian Internet industry. It was established in April 1999, with the support of the Australian Government, with a view to managing the .au ccTLD. auDA's Name Panel was established in June 2000 to review and recommend changes to .au domain name policies. Its Public Consultation Report, November 2000, outlines a number of proposals regarding eligibility and allocation criteria for .au domain names. Although the Name Panel's report does not directly address the issues raised in the WIPO2 RFC-2 document, it has been provided for WIPO's information, to note the policy development process currently underway within the .au domain space. The Name Panel is expected to complete its Terms of Reference in the first quarter of 2001. Jo Lim auDA Secretariat email jo.lim@auda.org.au http://www.auda.org.au
