Heinz GODDAR is a German Patent Attorney and European Patent and Trademark Attorney with his office in Munich, as a partner of Boehmert & Boehmert. His technical background (as well as PhD degree) is in physics. He teaches Intellectual Property Law as an Honorary Professor at the University of Bremen, Germany, as a Lecturer at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC), Munich, Germany, and as a Visiting Professor as well as a Lecturer at several further universities in both Asia and U.S.A.. He is a Past-President of LES International and of LES Germany. He has received the Gold Medal of LESI in 2005 and has been inducted into the IP Hall of Fame. Furthermore he is a member of the EPO’s Standing Advisory Committee (SACEPO).

Christine KANG is a partner of Jun He Law Offices in Beijing and has significant experience in international commercial dispute resolution, including international commercial arbitration and litigation, both in China and abroad for around 20 years. She also practices extensively in corporate compliance and anti-bribery investigation. Before joining Jun He, Christine practiced at international law firms for years. She has also worked with the CIETAC Beijing headquarters for eight years prior to her private practice.

Christine has significant experience in resolving cross-border disputes. She has advised many Fortune 500 companies on their international arbitration cases with major international arbitration institutions, including CIETAC, AAA-ICDR, ICC and HKIAC, involving various areas such as international trade, joint venture, construction, finance, insurance, licensing and intellectual property. She regularly represents multinationals with different levels of Chinese courts and has also advised Chinese SOEs on their overseas litigation cases in concert with US and UK litigators.

Christine is a listed arbitrator on the Panel of major international arbitration institutions, and has acted as chief arbitrator, sole arbitrator and party-nominated arbitrator in a variety of arbitration cases with CIETAC, AAA-ICDR, ICC and HKIAC. Christine is the member of AAA International Advisory Committee.

Clement NGAI is a partner in the intellectual property group of Baker & McKenzie, based in Shanghai. His main practice areas include advising mainly foreign clients on IP issues in China, including IP protection and licensing, as well as technology litigation on trade secrets and patent infringement. With a master’s degree in biochemistry, Clement focuses on the life science industries and advises clients on wide range of pharmaceutical regulatory issues. Before joining Baker, he worked in-house with Honeywell and Autodesk where he had Asia-Pacific responsibilities. He was actively involved in government lobbying work when he served as chair of the Business Software Association in China, Korea and India for a number of years.

Mr. Ngai studied at the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the University of London. He is a member of the WIPO list of mediators and arbitrators.

Jing NI is an Associate Professor and a supervisor for post-graduates of International Law School of East China University of Political Science and Law. She serves as an arbitrator at the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (Shanghai International Arbitration Center), and she has been specially invited as Mediator by Shanghai Pudong New Area Municipal Bureau of Justice and Shanghai Xuhui District Municipal Bureau of Justice. She took a Joint PhD of Law at Xiamen University (China) and the Aix-Marseille III University (France). Later, she completed post-doctoral fellowship at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Dr. Jing NI has been selected as a visiting scholar at the City University of Hong Kong and the National Chengchi University.

Dr. NI Jing has been making in-depth and leading theoretical research and exploration in the field of Intellectual Property Dispute Resolution Mechanisms. At present, she has written two personal monographs named “Research on Intellectual Property Arbitration” and “Study on ADR of Intellectual Property Disputes”, and dozens of papers published in CSSCI Law Journals. Dr. Ni Jing has undertaken a number of major research projects on Intellectual Property Dispute Resolution Mechanisms, which are coordinated and sponsored by the National Social Science Fund, the China Law Society, the Ministry of Justice of the People's Republic of China, the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, and the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Justice.

Joyce TAN is a transactional lawyer in corporate and commercial matters, including cross-border M&A deals, private equity investments, collaborative ventures and financing transactions. She is well-known for her work in TMT and intellectual property, having pioneered cutting-edge deals, including the use of cashless payment systems, fintech innovations and other innovative technology and telecommunications networks.
