Michael Gross, a national of Germany, was admitted to the German bar in 1984 and joined the Munich Office of Bird & Bird at its opening in October 2003 where he works in addition to his activity as Head of the License Department of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Munich.
Michael Gross has extensive experience in Licensing (> 4000 License Agreements since 1988), Research & Development Agreements, European (Block Exemption Regulations concerning Licensing and R & D) and German Antitrust Law. He is registered as an arbitrator at German Arbitration Association (DIS, Bonn), ICC (Paris, France), International Arbitral Centre of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber in Vienna, TENOS AG, Hamburg, and as an arbitrator and mediator at Chamber of Commerce (IHK) Munich, WIPO (Geneva, Switzerland) and TENOS AG. Co-authorship: Model-License Agreement China - Germany (German Ministry of Economics), 1996 - 2003.
He is the author of several articles and books in the field of Intellectual Property Rights, e.g. Stumpf/Gross, The License Agreement, 8th edition, Frankfurt a.M. 2005; Gross/Rohrer, License Fees, Heidelberg 2003.
