Launch of New IP4Youth&Teachers Service

May 16, 2018

The WIPO Academy launched its IP4Youth&Teachers service on May 14, 2018 at a side event in margin of the Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP). The new intellectual property (IP) education service consists of a toolkit and methodology catering to young people and their teachers and is designed to promote creativity and innovation. The service was created to respond to the high number of requests for support in this area from WIPO member states.

IP4Youth&Teachers aims to help young people access IP education tools, by providing educators with possible content and curricula that can be customized to fit their national contexts and delivered as part of their existing teaching curricula.

IP4Youth&Teachers was announced at a launch event by the Executive Director of the WIPO Academy, Mr. Sherif Saadallah. The event consisted of a demonstration of the tool by the Head of Distance Learning at the WIPO Academy, Ms. Altaye Tedla, followed by an interactive workshop with a Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) expert, Professor Christoph Dobrusskin. The side event was webcast and questions were posed from all over the world.

IP4Youth&Teachers now can be accessed through the WIPO eLearning Center website.
