IP and Sustainable Development: Designing the Nigeria of my Dreams

To raise further awareness on the role of intellectual property in design as a key driver of economic growth in Nigeria, WIPO Nigeria Office (WNO) in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art (NGA) launches its 2023 National Design Competition for professionals and students with the theme “IP and Sustainable Development: Designing the Nigeria of my Dreams”. This competition challenges participants to utilize design in exploring the relationship between intellectual property and sustainable development to envision a future for Nigeria in line with the theme of the competition.

The competition is open to two categories of persons, Students (primary and secondary) from institutions within Abuja and Design Professionals in Nigeria. Entries from the students’ categories (primary and secondary) are restricted to drawing, painting, sculpture and collage, while the design professionals are restricted to graphics design including print designs, 2D or 3D illustrations and drawing based on the theme.   

Entries are to be submitted in soft copy to the WIPO Nigeria Office on or before October 13, 2023. Adhering to the competition guidelines, each entry should be accompanied with a valid means of identification.
