I, DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 153 of the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) Act, 1927 (No. 16 of 1927), as adapted by the Industry, Commerce and Energy (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 10 of 1980 ), hereby make the following Rules:

 

 

1. (1) These Rules may be cited as the Industrial Property (Amendment) (No. 2) Rules, 1980.

 

 

(2) The Principal Rules, the Rules of 1969, the Industrial Property Rules, 1927 (Amendment) Rules, 1980 ( S.I. No. 315 of 1980 ), and these Rules may be cited together as the Industrial Property Rules, 1927 to 1980.

 

 

(3) These rules shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1981.

 

 

2. In these Rules—

 

 

"the Principal Rules" means the Industrial Property Rules, 1927 ( S. R. & O. No. 78 of 1927 );

 

 

"the Rules of 1969" means the Industrial Property (Amendment) Rules 1969 ( S.I. No. 190 of 1969 ).

 

 

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Rules.

 

 

4. The Principal Rules are hereby amended by the substitution for the classes and subclasses specified in the Third Schedule (inserted by the Rules of 1969) of the Classes and subclasses specified in the Schedule to these Rules.
