1 Name

This instrument is the Intellectual Property Laws Amendment (Fee Amounts and

Other Measures) Regulations 2020.

2 Commencement

(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences,

or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any

other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Designs Regulations 2004

1 Subregulation 1.04(1)

Insert:

expedited dispatch means a means of supplying documents that can reasonably

be expected usually to be faster than ordinary post.

2 After regulation 11.09

Insert:

11.09A Failure to pay—fees for requesting expedited dispatch

(1) This regulation applies if a request for the supply of documents is filed as

mentioned in item 13 or 14 of the table in clause 1 of Schedule 4.

(2) The Registrar must not supply the documents by means of expedited dispatch

unless:

(a) a request that the supply be by means of expedited dispatch is filed; and

(b) the fee mentioned in item 15 of that table for filing the request for

expedited dispatch is paid.

Repeal the item, substitute:

1 Filing a design application:

(a) in respect of one design as mentioned in

paragraph 22(1)(a) or (b) of the Act:
