LAW OR TURKMENISTAN

On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Turkmenistan

The following laws of Turkmenistan shall hereby be amended as follows:

I. The Law of Turkmenistan “On Inventions and Industrial Designs” of October 23, 2008 (Vedomosti Mejlisa Turkmenistana, 2008, Issue 4, Page 52):

In Article 1, Paragraph Eleven, the words “Patent authority of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan (hereinafter Turkmenpatent)” shall be substituted by the words “National Intellectual Property Service of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan (hereinafter Turkmenpatent)”;

In Article 2, Part One, Paragraph One, the words “Patent authority of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan (hereinafter Turkmenpatent)” shall be substituted by the words “National Intellectual Property Service of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan (hereinafter Turkmenpatent)”.

II. The Law of Turkmenistan “On Trademarks, Service Marks and Appellations of Origin” of October 23, 2008 (Vedomosti Mejlisa Turkmenistana, 2008, Issue 4, Page 53):

In Article 1 Paragraphs Twenty-Three and Twenty-Five, the words “Patent authority of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan” and “Patent authority of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan” shall be substituted by the words “National Intellectual Property Service of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan” and “National Intellectual Property Service of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan” respectively;

In Article 2, Part One, Paragraph One, the words “Patent authority of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan (hereinafter Turkmenpatent)” shall be substituted by the words “National Intellectual Property Service of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan (hereinafter Turkmenpatent)”.

III. The Law of Turkmenistan “On the Legal Protection of Algorithms, Electronic Computer Programs, Databases and Topographies of Integrated Circuits” of September 23, 1994 (Vedomosti Mejlisa Turkmenistana, 1994, Issue 3, Page 20):

In Article 12, Part One, the words “Patent authority of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan (Turkmenpatent)” shall be substituted by the words “National Intellectual Property Service of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan (hereinafter Turkmenpatent)”.

IV. The Law of Turkmenistan “On Mass Media” of December 22, 2012 (Vedomosti Mejlisa Turkmenistana, 2012, Issue 3-4, Page 106) in the state language of Turkmenistan the words “dörediji”, “döredijiler”, “döredijiniň”, “döredijileriň”, “döredijileriniň”, “döredijisi” shall be substituted by the words “esaslandyryjy”, “esaslandyryjylar”, “esaslandyryjynyň”, “esaslandyryjylaryň”, “esaslandyryjylarynyň” and “esaslandyryjysy” respectively.

V. Article 9 of the Law of Turkmenistan “On Tourism” of May 10, 2010 (Vedomosti Mejlisa Turkmenistana, 2010, Issue 2, Article 31) shall run as follows:

“Article 9. Export and Import of Tourist Services

1. Provision of services aimed at support of inbound tourist flow to Turkmenistan shall be treated as exporting tourist services.

2. Provision of services aimed at support of outbound tourist flow from Turkmenistan shall be treated as importing tourist services.”.

VI. This Law shall come into force as of the day of its official publication.
